This 5-bedroom ranch home is situated on over a quarter acre in the city and had some wonderful spaces but was stuck in the 70’s with its partitioned rooms and dated decor, and while the current homeowners had begun renovations, they hadn’t been able to achieve the bright open feel today’s home-dwellers crave. To modernize the space prior to selling, NPLHD reimagined the space for them with a focus on providing a more prominent heart of the home (aka – the kitchen). The new layout involved removing the large wall between the kitchen’s eating area and the adjoining family room which allowed us to install a large quartz island with ample seating and open-concept living so the kitchen area could benefit from the wonderful, natural light from the family room windows and deliver a more inclusive family living space. The renovation also included resurfacing the brick fireplace with a stacked travertine stone which further brightened the space.
