California Contemporary Remodel

BEFORE:

  • Small, segregated kitchen, mudroom and dining areas left the homeowners frustrated due to major bottlenecks and traffic-flow issues whenever guests or extended family visited.
  • Kitchen was located in the front of the home completed blocked off from the fabulous natural light and terrific views the home’s Dining and Living Rooms had via the floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • The spaces overall and appliances were out-of-date and needed replacing.

AFTER:

  • Redesigning the space and relocating the Kitchen to the rear of the home allow for more flexibility in overall design choices as well as the creation of a walk-in pantry.
  • Removing the wall that separated the Kitchen, small Family Room and Dining Room allowed for a new open-concept floorplan with plenty of natural light and installation of a large central island with additional storage space as well as seating.
  • Creation of a Beverage and Wet Bar area allowed for easy, self-serve station and service area.
